SOUTHERN SHORT COURSE IN NEWS PHOTOGRAPHY

Woody and Barbara Marshall wipe their eyes after the raffle drawing for a Nikon D2H camera Saturday April 3, 2004. The raffle was won by John Burney, Greensboro, NC. Woody Marshall became emotional after the drawing because of his 26 year friendship with Burney. Marshall explained to the crowd gathered for the reception that Mr. Burney was his eight grade science teacher and was responsible for getting Marshall started in photography. He went on to say that Mr. Burney had suffered a heart attach a week before SSC and gone through open heart surgery as a result. Mr. Burney was happy to hear that he won the camera and looks forward to using it as soon as he is able.
