1. Entries must be submitted by e-mail as an attachment or via postal mail on a CD-ROM. Entries must be created by a WPJA member between January 1 and December 31, 2004.

2. Entry requires a $10 entry fee unless entrant uses previously earned contest entry credit(s). Payments may be processed:

3. Entrants understand and agree to submitted image(s) use on the public WPJA web site, newsletters, publications, books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, and/or any other media for the organization or its members’ promotion.

4. Entrants understand digital submissions, whether sent as an email attachment or CD-ROM, will NOT be returned.

5. Single images are allowed entry in one category only, with the exception of “5-From-1” category entries, which may be entered in both “5-From-1” and one other category. In the event of multiple submissions, i.e. both “5-From-1” and one other category, two entry fees are required, one for each category.

6. Entries may be submitted in future WPJA contests in any category provided the image placed below the top 10 rankings during all previous competitions.

7. Images submitted in WPJA contests must be made from actual weddings. Images made during seminars or other staged events are not eligible for entry.

8. Situations controlled by the photographer, for example guided by instructions such as “stand here”, “look there”, “do this” or “do that again”, become portraits and may only be entered in portrait categories. All other categories are understood as candid.

9. Images must NOT be altered either developmentally or electronically, including software manipulation. However MINIMAL dodging and burning, dust and scratch removal, levels/curves adjustment, sharpening, cropping and color to black & white conversion are acceptable. The judges will disqualify images with severe manipulation and will be advised to watch for software filter use.

10. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER SEPIA OR OTHER TONED IMAGES IN THIS CONTEST, THEY WILL BE CONVERTED TO GRAYSCALE BEFORE BEING SENT TO THE JUDGES.

11. Images must not include text or border treatments.

12. WPJA members may enter no more than 60 contest entries annually. “5-From-1” entries count toward one category entry.

13. Awarded contest points are cumulative.

POINTS from each category will be awarded as follows:
a. First place = 15 points
b. Second place = 10 points
c. Third place = 5 points

CASH from each category will be awarded as follows:
a. First place = $200.00 USD
b. Second place = $100.00 USD
c. Third place = $50.00 USD

CASH from CATEGORY #07 will be awarded as follows:
a. First place = $500.00 USD
b. Second place = $300.00 USD
c. Third place = $200.00 USD
