JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
First
place is a winner for the obvious humor. We've all seen routine
cake cutting photos. This one, because of the kilt and knife,
reminded us of Mike Myers in "I Married An Axe Murderer."
Those big eyes tell a cute story.
SECOND
PLACE - Justin Ide [more]

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
We
loved second place for it's composition. The stoic father/guest
watching family photos. It underscores the fact that there are
great moments to be had AWAY from the thing you think is the moment!
THIRD
PLACE - Todd Hougas [more]

JUDGE'S
COMMENTS:
Third
place or the same reason: It turns a routine photo--the receiving
line or portrait session--into an actual moment in which something
is happening. Wedding photography is always about happy people.
Wedding photojournalism is about real people and Lord knows brides
get pooped during the course of the day.
OVERALL
CATEGORY COMMENTS:
These entries were fine for coverage of the reception. The three
top images were clear winners. The three winning images from the
reception showed fun, light, unexpected moments.
