WPJA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST JUDGING PROCEDURES:
The
following guidelines outline WPJA wedding photography
contest judging procedures.
1.
WPJA staff receives digital image entries from members
by e-mail or CD-ROM.
2.
Digital images are filed in appropriate category folders.
3.
Image files are renamed with special coded (official use
only) photographer numbers. This ensures anonymity and
omits any opportunity for bias. Judgment is based solely
on the image itself.
4.
All images are burned onto CD-ROM and shipped to each
individual judge. Judges work independently when deciding
placement without influence from other judges.
5.
Judges are asked to select their favorite Top 10 images
from each category. They place them in order within each
category, one being best, providing feedback for each
image in their Top 5 per category.
6.
Judges e-mail rankings with feedback to WPJA offices.
7.
WPJA staff allots (internal use only) a numeric score
to each image based on the judges individual top
10 ranking results. See 'SCORE' allotment chart below:

8. WPJA staff tallies each image numeric score and ranks
each within their given category.
9.
WPJA awards First, Second and Third place entries for
each category.
10.
WPJA announces winners and their respective point totals/cash
awards on the web site.
