01. Getting Ready
The behind the scenes preparation work on wedding day.

02. Ceremony
Pre-ceremony through the receiving line.

03. Reception
From cocktail hour until the last dance/departure.

04. Kids (being kids)
Candid images of children doing what they do best.

05. Details
Tighter shots on some of the texture of the day (clothes, rings, tables, flowers, faces, etc.)

06. Action
Peak Action...this is a key moment.

07. Emotion
Full range of emotions accepted in this category.

08. Humor
The lighter side from a wedding!

09. Artistic (slow shutter, obscure, infrared)
LIMITED SOFTWARE MANIPULATION HERE. It happened in the camera, not with a computer afterwards. See OFFICIAL RULES.

10. Cake Cutting NEW
This is the first time for this category.

11. Food NEW
Another first time category for the WPJA. Looking for anything food related: Preparation, serving, still lifes.

12. Using Available Light
We are giving this category a second chance this year. It was tried in 2002, but many photographers did not enter images where they were really 'USING' the available light...many were just images with the flash turned off.

13. Musicians NEW
Yet another first time category for the WPJA. We feel contests should be fun, fresh and new. Images can be from the ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception.

14. Bridal Portrait NEW
Another first time category for the WPJA. Looking for 'CREATIVE' portraits of the bride done anytime BEFORE the actual wedding day.

15. Portrait of Bride AND Groom
Does not have to be posed. Although, photographer may pose/suggest/urge couple for this category.

16. Portrait of Bride OR Groom
Does not have to be posed. Although, photographer may pose/suggest/urge...

17. Portrait of Bridal Party REVISITED
Our goal with this category is to show off creative on-location portraits of groups.
